Our Physicians
Dr. Finan is board certified in both Dermatology and Dermatopathology. She has been engaged in the full-time practice of Dermatopathology in the Atlanta area since 1987. She founded this lab as Finan Dermatopathology Laboratory in 1994 and serves as the Laboratory Director. She additionally taught and actively signed out cases at Grady Hospital for ten years as an Assistant Professor of Pathology and Dermatology, Emory University School of Medicine, and currently serves on the Clinical Faculty. She has held leadership positions in several organizations, including having served as President of the Georgia Society of Dermatologists, President of the Atlanta Dermatological Association, and as a member of the FDA Dermatologic Drugs Advisory Committee. Areas of interest include inflammatory skin diseases, skin signs of systemic disease, and melanocytic neoplasms.
In 1993, Dr. Templeton began practicing clinical Dermatology and Dermatopathology at the Emory Clinic and Emory University Hospital. At Emory, he served as Assistant Professor in the departments of Dermatology and Pathology for three and one half years. During this time he took an active role in teaching dermatology and dermatopathology to medical students and residents and published several scientific papers. Dr. Templeton has been in full time practice with Finan Templeton Dermatopathology Associates since 1997, and he has been active in the administrative aspects and leadership of the lab since 1999. He continues to enjoy part time teaching endeavors as a Clinical Assistant Professor of Dermatology at Emory University Medical School. He is an active member of the Atlanta Dermatology Association, Georgia Society of Dermatologists, American Academy of Dermatology and American Society of Dermatopathologists. He has served as a past board member for the Georgia Dermatology Network. Histologic diagnosis of alopecia and inflammatory skin disease are areas of special interest.
Dr. Berne is board certified by the American Board of Pathology in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology and in Dermatopathology by the American Board of Pathology and American Board of Dermatology. Dr. Berne practiced Dermatopathology for two years in the Orlando, Florida area before joining Finan Templeton Dermatopathology Associates in 1999. Dr. Berne is a Fellow of the American Society of Dermatopathology, College of American Pathologists, and the American Society of Clinical Pathologists. He is a member of the American Academy of Dermatology, the Atlanta Dermatological Association, and is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Dermatology at Emory University.
Following her training, Dr. Barber stayed on faculty at the University of Pennsylvania for a short period, active in both clinical dermatology and dermatopathology. From there she joined Finan Templeton Dermatopathology Associates, where she has been practicing dermatopathology full time since 2002.
Dr. Naik practiced full-time dermatopathology for two and a half years with Pathology Associates in Westchester County, New York, prior to joining Finan Templeton Dermatopathology Associates in 2006. He is board certified in both dermatology and dermatopathology and is a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology and the American Society of Dermatopathology. Areas of interest include inflammatory skin diseases, skin infections, and elastic tissue disorders.
